Watch Michael J Fox Respond to E News’ Red Carpet Blooper With Nothing But Class

Actor Michael J. Fox responded Friday to the infamous E! News red carpet blooper on the “Late Show With David Letterman” — and he did so with nothing but class.

Earlier this year, the entertainment news outlet generated controversy when they displayed a “fun fact” during the Golden Globes awards that said Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991. The graphic was shown on-air as the “Back to the Future” actor made his way across the red carpet and immediately ignited controversy online.

Fox told Letterman that he wasn’t aware of the “fun fact” until later that evening, but said his publicist called the network and “gave them hell about it.”

“They were really sweet and they right away wrote me a letter and made a generous donation to the foundation,” said Fox, who has a foundation to raise money for Parkinson’s research. “And they sent me a gift … and they sent this  letter of apology and they sent this box full of gummy candies.”

“I wrote them a letter back saying, ‘First of all, I wasn’t aware of it. Some people might take offense — I didn’t take offense. I think it’s kind of funny,’” he added. “And people that are worrying about it, there’s this whole Ukranian thing going on. There’s other stuff.”

“But I said, don’t worry about me I’m fine,” he concluded.
